Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist.
- This person must be OK in working within a large plant with both manufacturing and distribution.
- Looking Safety experience within Warehouse Operations where forklifts are present and this position will be out on the floor working with Staff
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and track compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training requirements, schedule and facilitate sessions as needed, and provide administrative support to the site Emergency Response Team.
• Maintain documentation and monitor adherence to EHS programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Industrial Hygiene, Working at Heights, and Emergency Response protocols.
• Support Behavior-Based Safety initiatives by tracking participation, compiling and reporting key EHS metrics, and coordinating routine compliance inspections.
• Conduct and document regular workplace inspections, assist with hazard assessments for new or modified operations, and provide administrative support for incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) tracking.
• Administer safe work permit processes, maintain contractor training records and compliance documentation, support waste management recordkeeping, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to uphold safety and housekeeping standards.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related physical science preferred.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, and state environmental agencies) with experience supporting incident documentation, risk assessments, and corrective action tracking.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and follow tasks through to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in support of compliance initiatives.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA Hazardous Waste, DOT Hazardous Materials, OSHA 10/30-hour, ISO standards) preferred; prior experience in regulated industrial or manufacturing environments
