About Shift Health

Shift Health is a new virtual care platform designed around aligned incentives for providers, patients, and employers.

Our model is built to give clinicians greater control, allow patients to choose the providers they trust, and deliver measurable results for employers through transparent pricing and improved access to care.

We are launching with urgent care services and are building a small group of early clinicians interested in helping shape a different approach to virtual care.

The Opportunity

Shift Health is seeking physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with urgent care or acute care experience who are interested in participating as independent clinicians on our platform.

Clinicians maintain flexibility in when they are available to see patients and participate in a model designed to prioritize autonomy, fairness, and continuity of care.

This is not a traditional employment role. Clinicians participate as independent providers and may choose their availability based on their schedule.

Early clinicians will have the opportunity to help shape how the platform evolves as we launch and grow.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual urgent care visits for patients presenting with common acute care concerns
• Deliver high quality, patient-centered care through video or digital encounters
• Document encounters appropriately within the platform’s clinical system
• Collaborate with other clinicians on the platform when consultation is appropriate
• Support a care model focused on transparency, continuity, and patient choice

Qualifications

• Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner licensed in Utah
• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or acute care settings preferred
• Comfortable providing care through telehealth technologies
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care
• Interest in participating in a new model of virtual care

• Clinicians may choose when they are available to accept visits through the platform.

Compensation

Shift Health operates on a transparent revenue model designed to fairly compensate clinicians for the care they provide.

Providers receive 65 percent of the total visit price for each completed visit.

Example visit pricing:

• Standard urgent care visit: $79–$119 depending on complexity

• Provider compensation: Approximately $204 + per fully productive hour

Typical visit duration is approximately 15 minutes, though visit length may vary depending on patient needs.

Because visits are shorter and documentation is streamlined within the platform, clinicians are able to maintain high productive clinical time during periods of active demand.

Clinicians control their availability and may choose when they are online to accept visits.

Patients are also able to favorite providers and schedule directly with clinicians they trust, allowing engaged providers to build continuity with returning patients over time.

Shift Health is designed so clinicians are compensated fairly for the care they provide without hidden fees, quotas, or productivity pressure.
