K-5 Music Teacher
Grant Public Schools is looking for a passionate and dynamic Music Teacher, for grades Kindergarten – 5th grade, to join our team and make a positive impact on our students' educational journey.
Job Description:
The kindergarten – 5th Grade Music Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction that fosters creativity, musical understanding, performance skills, and a lifelong appreciation for music among elementary students. The teacher creates a positive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to participate, explore, and grow through music education.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver engaging music instruction for students in grades K–5
· Develop lessons that support musical literacy, creativity, and performance skills
· Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom culture
· Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
· Assess student progress and communicate growth with families and staff
· Organize and direct elementary music performances and programs
· Maintain classroom instruments, materials, and equipment
· Collaborate with colleagues to support school and district goals
· Support social-emotional learning and positive student behavior
· Participate in professional development and school activities as required
Qualifications:
· Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate music education endorsement
· Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field
· Strong classroom management and instructional skills
· Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
· Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
