Job Description

Candidates must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience and a job history exhibiting stability and longevity.

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive:

  • Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
  • Recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit.
  • Ensure proper documentation is obtained prior to preparing the patient for treatment.
  • Prepares patients for examination.
  • Help providers examine and treat patients. Many hands-on elements such as blood draws, injections, wound care, and assisting during procedures are a requirement for this position. 
  • HIPAA compliance and safe OSHA practices.
  • Maintain accurate electronic charts in EHR.
  • Patient Education.
  • Returning patient phone calls.
  • Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Collecting, documenting, and delivering lab specimens.

Medical Assistant/ Nurse Skills and Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
  • Organization.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
  • Practices teamwork.
