Job Description

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient recovery and well-being. Working in home with patients from the Lafayette to New Iberia areas. As a contracted team member you will be paid per visit. Pay is $45.00 per visit with each visit lasting around 45 minutes. Expected visits per week will be 30 to 35.

In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care across diverse settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health environments, and skilled nursing facilities. Your dedication will help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life through personalized treatment plans and compassionate care. Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans for patients across various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and home health visits.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy, and modalities to support patient recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments accurately in medical records.
  • Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, injury prevention, and post-discharge care plans.
  • Support discharge planning by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions from hospital or facility to home or other care environments.
  • Perform assessments related to physiology and anatomy knowledge to tailor interventions effectively for orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, or neurological conditions.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and infection control standards during treatments.
  • Patients located in the Lafayette and New Iberia areas.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy essential for developing effective treatment strategies.
  • Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other manual therapies.
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to rehabilitation and acute care settings.
  • Experience working in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
  • Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans focused on rehabilitation goals across orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and other specialties.
