PA or NP - Orthopedic Spine Team

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists (SOS) – Syracuse, NY

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists (SOS), the leading orthopedic practice in Central New York, is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our highly respected spine team.

Opportunity Highlights

Evaluates new and follow up patients who are scheduled.
Orders appropriate diagnostic tests (labs, imaging).
Applies and removes casts and splints for fracture care patients.
Prescribes medications, treatments, physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Participates in triage decisions.
Follows guidelines set forth by NYSDOH, DEA, and CMS
Provides office coverage for physicians (when physicians are not available) for labs, paperwork, etc.
Performing injections: intra-articular, trigger point, trigger finger and inter-muscular.
Responsible for history and physicals, patient teaching for upcoming surgery.
Responsible for precepting student Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Maintains knowledge regarding changes in the practice of the advanced practice provider.
Documents notes efficiently and within appropriate billing guidelines.
Responds to emergencies including using CPR.
Performs other duties as assigned.
