The Senior Epic ODBA is responsible for the administration, optimization, and maintenance of IRIS databases to ensure data integrity, system stability, and optimal performance. This role requires a strong understanding of IRIS database and Linux technologies and the ability to work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals.

Responsibilities

Perform core database administration duties for Epic environments, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Support Epic upgrades, environment refreshes, and routine system health checks

Manage database security, performance, and integrity across multiple environments

Collaborate with technical and application teams to resolve system issues efficiently

Execute and document standard change management procedures

Provide proactive support for optimization and environment stability

Test and document disaster recovery procedures

Skills and Requirements

Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) Certification (required)

Minimum 3-5 years of equivalent professional experience

Minimum 3 years of experience as an Epic Operational Database Administrator

Strong experience supporting medium - large-scale Epic production environments

Strong Linux/Unix skills with shell scripting

Knowledge of a command shell plus languages and utilities such as ask, sed, and Perl Experience with ECP is plus but not required
