Contract: W2 Length (6-months, Onsite w/ possible extensions)

Pay rate: $69.00 - $72.00 Per hour based on experience

Shift: Monday to Thursday – 4:45am to 3:15pm

Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to support the design, deployment, and operation of advanced IT/OT database solutions at a leading semiconductor manufacturing site in Richardson, TX. This role will drive digital transformation initiatives, modernize legacy reporting systems, and implement scalable data architecture solutions including data marts and data warehouses. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable AI-driven manufacturing automation, equipment integration, and advanced process control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for on-premises databases across manufacturing and enterprise systems
• Design, develop, and maintain high-availability MS SQL database solutions
• Support and learn additional database technologies such as Oracle and DB2
• Lead migration from legacy reporting systems to modern data warehouse/data mart architecture
• Develop advanced SQL objects (stored procedures, views, etc.)
• Build and maintain SSRS / Power BI reports (dashboards, drill-downs, multi-parameter reports)
• Perform Application Integrated Database Engineering
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues across physical and virtual environments
• Implement and maintain database security, access control, and documentation
• Ensure 24/7 monitoring, auditing, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with IT, OT, and manufacturing teams to resolve system issues
• Support cybersecurity compliance in partnership with corporate IT and security teams
• Mentor junior team members on database best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (required)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL
• 5+ years of database tuning and performance optimization
• 5+ years with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• 2+ years of PowerShell scripting
• 1+ year of experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
• Strong experience in:
• Data Modeling & Database Design
• Advanced SQL Development
• Data Architecture & Governance
• Performance-driven database design
• Requirements-to-design translation
• Application-integrated database engineering
• Experience with full SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment, support)
• Experience documenting systems, scripts, and infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering
• Experience with data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• IT/OT support experience in manufacturing environments
• Semiconductor manufacturing experience (front-end or back-end)
• Experience with MES, SCADA, Historian systems
• Programming experience: C#, Python, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS
• Experience with SSRS / Power BI development
• Familiarity with legacy technologies (VB, VB.NET, ASP.NET)
• Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or TFS
• ITIL knowledge and change management experience
• Strong ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
