We are seeking a Broadcast Associate / Anchor Assistant to join CBS Evening News! The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player with exceptional organizational skills who keeps a calm head under pressure.

General duties include:

• Maintaining talent’s calendar and schedule, following up on talent requests and screening viewer mail/email.

• Organizing travel and expenses for talent and team.

• Preparing research, briefing books and assisting in interview preparation for talent.

• Help with developing story pitches, gathering elements, and logging interviews.

• Script-running during the show.

• Occasional general news desk duties, including coordinating graphics, overseeing edit, and fact-checking.

• Attend and contribute ideas to editorial meetings.

• There may be occasional travel with talent.

Qualifications:

• Internship or comparable experience working on a news broadcast.

• Demonstrated interest in news.

• Able to work under strict deadlines.

• Solid communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.

• College degree preferred.

• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including overnights, holidays and weekends.

• Valid U.S. driver's license and willingness to drive are required.

• Valid U.S. passport and unrestricted ability to travel domestically and international.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $45,000.00 - 50,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
