Job Description
Role Description
Are you an experienced threat intelligence analyst who gets genuinely excited about finding signal in places others overlook? Flashpoint is looking for a Senior Intelligence Analyst I to join our Corporate Security team in a remote capacity. If you enjoy hunting for new sources across complex online communities, building keyword architecture that actually catches what you're looking for, and contributing to intelligence pipelines that operate at scale, we have a role for you. In this role, you will be a core driver of how Flashpoint expands and refines collections coverage in direct support of enterprise clients. Your work won't sit in a report; it will feed live pipelines used to surface real threats for the organizations that need them most.
Qualifications
- You have navigated illicit online communities, forums, marketplaces, closed channels and understand how they operate, how they shift, and what makes a source valuable versus noisy.
- You have built complex keyword queries to surface relevant intelligence across large, unstructured datasets.
- You understand the difference between a high-signal source and a high-volume one, and you know which matters more depending on the use case.
- You have assessed source credibility and reliability in environments where actors have strong incentives to deceive.
- You've contributed to or helped expand a collections program, identifying gaps, proposing new coverage areas, and validating that new sources actually deliver.
- Have experience producing well-researched and concise written deliverables and can tailor writing to a variety of audiences.
- You have worked with ambiguous requirements and translated them into a concrete sourcing or monitoring strategy.
Requirements
- Leverage our proprietary tools, internal data sources, and external tools to synthesize data and enhance analysis/alerting services for our clients' operational needs.
- Build and refine complex keyword sets and Boolean logic to maximize relevant coverage across diverse community types.
- Work directly with enterprise client teams to understand their collection priorities and translate those into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with internal collections, product, and engineering teams to operationalize new sources at scale.
- Contribute to documentation and tradecraft standards that help the broader team replicate your sourcing methods.
- Safely navigate virtual environments for supporting assigned tasks, as applicable.
- Write high-quality tactical and strategic assessments to inform risk intelligence decision-making process.
What you will achieve
- Within 30 days:
- You have completed onboarding and have a working understanding of Flashpoint's existing collections infrastructure and source taxonomy.
- You have met with the client team and can articulate their top collection priorities and current coverage gaps.
- You have audited a subset of existing sources and delivered an initial assessment of quality and relevance.
- Within 60 days:
- You have identified and proposed at least 3–5 net-new source candidates with documented rationale for each.
- You are independently building and testing keyword sets against live data with minimal guidance.
- You have begun contributing to the team's sourcing methodology documentation.
- By 90 days:
- You have successfully onboarded at least one new source into the active collections pipeline.
- Your keyword frameworks are being used or iterated on by peers.
- You are operating as a full contributor on client collection priorities, with a clear backlog of source candidates you own.
- You have identified at least one systemic gap in current coverage and proposed a plan to address it.
To be successful in this role, you will need
- Demonstrated experience finding, evaluating, and monitoring sources within illicit or gray-area online communities.
- The ability to construct complex Boolean or keyword queries that are precise enough to reduce noise without missing critical coverage.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments where source quality isn't obvious and tradecraft judgment matters.
- Experience working against external stakeholder requirements — understanding what a client actually needs versus what they asked for.
Benefits
- Diversity: Flashpoint is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity.
- Culture and Belonging: Opportunities to connect with coworkers through various communication channels and company-funded virtual events.
- Perks: Health and wellness perks like gym reimbursements, expensed lunches, and inclusive employee events.
- Career Growth: Frequent, two-way feedback, regular performance reviews, and learning and development opportunities.
